Supervision

While we're on the subject of supervision, it seems that nationally as well

as on a state level there is a trend towards tightening up supervision for

both techs and PTAs. I understand that 38 states allow off site

supervision for PTAs. I have to assume at least some of this trend is

being driven by our current market. I'm wondering if at some point as a

national organization we will have to re-examine the supervision issue, as

there really is no clear rationale that I can see that would warrent states

supervising techs and PTAs differently. It won't be pretty, but I would

feel much more comfortable with that idea than with HCFA and other payers

making policy for us. Just wondering what the rest of you are thinking

about this.
