Guest guest
I'm one that greatly improves with the z-pack ( zyrthromycin). I did try the tetracycline that they spoke about but didn't tell any difference on it. After 2 doses of the z-pack I can clean house and my pain goes away--- and it lasts until 3 days after the last dose. Its so crazy because no Dr. will put me on long term antibiotics. Right now I'd give up 20 years of life to have 2-3 good years. I had 2 months of great pain relief in my knees after my bladder surgery-- turned out I got 30 minutes of IV antibiotics during the surgery. Seems like that would prove the dx. I still can't email individuals but if anyone knows of any clinic in the US I'd go to if there was any chance of help. Thanks

Guest guest
, I noticed the same thing when I had surgery and was given the large dose of antibiotics pre and post op. I started on Doxycycline 200mg a day two months ago. After two weeks my rheummy reduced the dose to 100mg a day because I was getting worst with pain and not better. So after six weeks of 100mg of Doxycycline, I don't feel any better but my sed rate is the lowiest it has been in a long time. My rheummy today put me back on 200mg of Doxycycline...so we shall see how it goes. Now if I could get rid of this darn rash and itching I would be happy!! Oh my rheummy said there is promising research that shows that antibiotic therapy actually encourages new cartilage growth. This is good news for those with OA, which I also have.
