Hi Debby,

I finally got ahold of the computer to try and help. My mom mentioned

to me that Cheryl was having problems as she saw it in an ICQ from

C. So I have been pondering the situation till I could get on the computer.

I have a couple of options depending on her situation.

1- ICE is good as I found it would help take some of the edge off of the

pain. HOWEVER, don't leave it on for more than ten minutes as it can then

cause the arm to go numb from the cold and you have to decipher between the

numbness. 10 min on 15 off is a good idea

2- If she can't move her arm

~Try moving it slowly in a circular motion while she is bent over. (this is

hard to explain..it would look like she is bowing but her arm would just be

dangling in the air.) You -or if she can move it a tiny bit- get it rotating

in very small circular movement.

*this has worked a couple of times as my arm was in a bad positions (causing

loss of circulation, numbness and/or feeling) and it just kind of needed to

be slowly moved so it can work out what ever was pinched or cut off inside

the shoulder.

3- If she can move her arm try moving it around slowly on her OWN as she

only knows the pain tolerance. Once she has moved it a bit try and raise it

or have her sit on the couch and prop it up by putting a bunch of pillows on

her lap. Then every now and then move it a bit.

4-Take a Chainsaw and give it one quick swipe through the shoulder and that

should solve the numbness and tingling but she will lose all feeling of the

arm. I am sorry that was just a joke to try and alleviate some tension.

BUT many a times I felt like doing that. ....even my GP said he could solve

it with a quick smash of his axe out back.

I really hope that works. The only time that I have had problems such as

this is when my shoulder had subluxed and I couldn't reduce it properly or

the one time my shoulder popped out (after the most recent surgery) and I

couldn't move my arm and even the Docs in ER had one hell of a time trying

to reduce it. Thank God that it went back in and after my Ortho checked it

he said it is so stable still it was as if it never came out. GOOD LUCK.

Jeff
