Hi all - does anyone else have it bad in one elbow? With all the meds

I'm on - my left elbow is getting worse - very swollen and doesn't go

straight anymore - just wondering what might help?

Thanks!

Some times when my flares gets so bad, I use a Ben Gay patch or one of those

heating patches. They tend to work for me, Good luck, pain is always so hard.

Bonnie,

I have it in ONE elbow only too. It started about 5 years ago, and

until recently I've been slowly loosing the ability to straighten it.

I used to lay in bed with a pillow under my elbow and another one

placed as a weight on my hand to try to keep from loosing my ability

to straighten it.

Now that I am swimming, I can see a difference in it and I don't

think I'm loosing it anymore. Mine is also my left. Try to keep it

mobile the best that you can.

I know it hurts. Warm compresses before exercising it helped me and

then I'd ice it after exercise. If it extremely swollen, it's best to

wait until the flare is over. Gentle range of motion exercise may all

you can do when it is flaring. Pushing to much could further damage

your joint. Maybe your doctor can prescribe physical therapy and you

will learn what to do to help yourself.
