Guest guest
Hi, all! I've been virtually silent the past month following my surgery- sorry about that! For those of you that haven't heard, I contacted bacterial meningitis within the two weeks following surgery. I've been in and out of the hospital an additional 15 days since my surgical discharge on June 17 (Surgery was a hospital total of 4 days) The meningitis has been a bear to battle! The headaches are worse than my chiari ones! My ears and eyes have never pounded so much! My last discharge was last Friday, July 16. I caught two different bacterial infections when my incision did not heal correctly earlier in June. Now I am taking two different IV antibiotics daily (at home with a PICC line) to combat the bugs. I have another two weeks of meds before my next doctor's appointment. My physical therapist is amazed at my range of motion following the ACM surgery. I can now drive again. I am getting around and out of the house within reason, too. I am starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel! Thank you for your prayers for my well-being. It has made a difference in my recovery from the two meningitis bugs as well as the decompression surgery. I miss sitting at the computer whenever I want to and reading all the posts. I am gradually working up to it though. Bye for now,
