Guest guest
I have been up a lot last night with this problem. My daughter started law school on Monday. She has to go to Delaware which is an hour from here, no big deal. Laurie has a controlled seizure condition. Actually she has only taken four seizures since her birth. When she gets upset she starts to shake, happens all the time. Yesterday her awful manager was just plain nasty. She had ask for " Friday off because there was a test she had to take. The test is pass or fail no in between. She never, never takes off and has plenty of time built up. He wouldn't give her off. A few weeks ago when she had her wisdow teeth out, he said to her " can't eat maybe you will loss weight " . She really doesn't need to loss weight, he is just nasty. Anyway they were doing a pre-test and she started to shake at school. New twist on this is she said everything got fuzzy with her eyes and her chest felt tight and she couldn't breathe. She told them that she shakes whenever she gets nervous but they said no. They took her to the deans office, they were helping her calm down. They called me, I told them that the shaking is something that happens and that she is on seizure medicine. They wouldn't let her drive home. I called the doctor and he said " Lynn this is not a seizure and it is highly unlikely she will take a seizure " . He was more interested about this very important test. Well the school couldn't be nicer and she can take the test, just has to be set up. My son and I went down and got her. On a positive note showed us a better way to come home that she is very happy with. Seems the way she was coming there was all kinds of construction and it took much longer. Plus with the construction there is flashing light. Flashing lights are very bad for anyone with a seizure condition. Does anyone know if shaking, things getting hazy and lightness in the chest, hard to breathe is an anxiety attack? I am wonder if that is what happened to her. I will say Laurie is smart and can do this law thing. I don't think there will be any problems with the work at all. The dean did tell me that the first week is an extremely stressful week for all students. On top of that you put her manager and his terrible treatment to her. He keeps telling her she is stupid for going to law school. One other thing they don't like it when she has to take off, which is rare. No one knows or can do her job but her. I am sorry this is so long, I am just so upset. I just feel that nothing goes right. Thanks for letting me vent. Lynn MeMom
