I've actually taken to sleeping on the couch with pillows in from of me to hold me into a position while I sleep When I try to sleep in our bed as soon as I roll over the 1st time I'm usually awakened by the shot of pain , whick I may as well get up because it won't let me back to sleep. But on the couch I can usually get almost double the length that I get in my bed - whoopie so sometimes I get 4 hours max (usually 2-3 hours) One thing that helps me at times is my acupuncture , for the 1st 3-4 days after a treatment I can sleep for as much as 6 hours a night but with the insurance company only wanting to authorize every other week visits to the acupuncturist , I spend 2/3 of the month running on little sleep . If I went every week , I can get to the point where after 3 weeks I was sleeping 6 hours , on any nights where I wasn't dealing with breakthru pain levels. Unfortunatly , only a small percentage (20% responds) of back pain is treatable with acupuncture , so insurance companies really make you fight for it , if it works i've found one of my biggest problems is when pain levels get high and only sleeping an hour or two a day. I know I get misreable after 6 days of little sleep and I have a family that I'm sure would agree ;-) Jim __________________________________________________
