Guest guest
, I think it's great that you are so concerned, there aren't too many husbands like you out there. Niki is very lucky to have you. My daughter is the one who has the seizures and she's only 13yo and has had the seizures since she turned 12yo and she's on Trileptal. I'm sorry that I can't help with any info about Keppra, but I just wanted to say how sorry I am that you and Nikki have had such a rough time. God Bless you both! Niki, my wife, has had sporadic epileptic grand-mal siezures for 23 years. She unfortunately has been in Hospital for the last 4 weeks. She had a realy good spell of 5 months we went on holiday and on our return they came back with a vengance. Guest guest
Hi : Welcome to the group!! Your wife is lucky to have you and I hope she does well. I have an adult friend that takes Keppra and she is doing very well on it - no seizures at all - and she is a person that has had seizures since a young age. She's a mother of two, a beautiful girl, and can work full time with Keppra! I know each of us react differently to medications. I'm still looking for someone to discuss the one I take - Tegretol - from this group! > GARY I'D SUGGEST THAT YOU DON'T USE KEPPRA,IT LEADS TO DEPRESSION,SUICIDE, > MEMORY LOSS, JUST TO NAME A FEW I WAS ON IT AND IT MADE ME HAVE MORE SEIZURES > THAN I EVRER HAD IN 3 MONTHS TIME I HAD 605 SEIZURES DOES THAT TELL YOU > ANYTHING,MARK HOGUE > > <boomerang2u2@...> wrote:Realy pleased too have found this group. > I have been a carer for someone with epilepsy (my wife)for 11 years > and i have been increasingly losing faith in modern medicine. > Though i realise that for the lucky 80%, siezure control by > pharmacological means should be considered pretty good; i wonder > what percentage of the 80% have no side effects or adverse > complications ; ie.. with mood, psycological, nervous or any other > kind of imbalance. > Niki, my wife, has had sporadic epileptic grand-mal siezures for 23 > years. Guest guest
I'm sorry you're hurting so bad . As for who to help with pain relief, depends on your doctor. The first Rheumy didn't believe in pain meds, but my new one does. So I'd say ask both and see what happens? Have a good day! melissa <mvd12720@...> wrote: hi everyone well i am 34 and i have ra i was told i had it 4 years ago but i think that i have had it longer then that i have had pain and swelling sence i was a teenager. but i finally got a dr. that tested me for it and then i'm with my second rumy now the first one said that i was fine and to go home after months of injections and then he retired so know i have a new one and he is doing testing to see if he can put me on mtx and it is scarry for me because i have 2 kids 11 and 7 years and 3 step kids 13,12,11 years and well i also work st a vets office i'm the holder for treatments and shots but the sideaffects scare me about this but i'm willing to give it a try as long as everything is good in my blood. well i'm sorry that i'm going on and on but i'm in so much pain right now i cann't stand it. i go to my regular dr today and i'm going to see if he can get me any pain relef or should i talk to my rumy???? melissa

Guest guest
Bless your heart , you certainly have a housefull. I suggest you talk to both your doctors, make sure they communicate your health care with one another, so one knows what the other may have you on.
