Guest guest
I was on Zestril for a while but it raised my potasium so high (6.5) that I ended up in the E.R. on heart monitors and all kinds of funky IV drugs so they stopped the Zestril. I guess I am a mess huh? he he. (((HUGS))) Mia > > Jen, my name is . What is Zestril? Ace inhib? Other? > > Zestril is one of the common ACE inhibitors. Guest guest
The exact same thing happened to me last Fall on the angiotensin II receptor blocker (a2RB) Avapro. They can do this too, like ACE inhibitors. All they did was put on a low potassium diet for a while, and started me on the loop diuretic furosemide. That took care of it. Now, I don't even need to follow the diet anymore. Of course, I realise my situation isn't the same as yours, but others may go through this experience eventually.
