Guest guest
Beth! Thank you so much and it was great meeting you also. I think the appointment went well. Dr. Dykeman doesn't have much of a bedside manner...but- he didn't dismiss my questions and he seems to know what he is talking about. So as far as I'm concerned that makes it good. He took blood and urine samples, took x-rays of my feet and hands and a bone density test. He said that with these results he will have a " base-line " of my diagnosis and treatment? Does this make sense? Anyway, he said that once we find the proper meds, he can honestly say that he will be able to help me reduce my pain and symptoms by 60-80%!!!!!!!! That is just more than I can comprehend! I am really excited. I now have 6 new prescriptions to start (these may change after all the results are back). I'm just praying so hard that he is right. My heart tells me to be cautious...but I am extremely hopeful. The only " negative " thing he said is that due to my back surgery (L5-S1 laminectomy) that I have nerve damage that will always be bothersome and that we need to watch my right leg because I have absolutely zero reflexes in it. That is also the leg that " gives out " sometimes..but that's because of the surgery damage. I'm just praying that he's right....AND that we can afford all these new prescriptions. Let me know how things went.
