Tess:

Thanks for the reply. I never had this problem prior to becoming ill with

RA. I really think it was triggered by months of isolation at home in

bed. I am trying to make myself go places as often as I feel up to it.

The more I get out, the less anxiety I have. I'm sure this is true for

most who suffer with it.

Take care,

HI, may I pass on a little information about social

anxiety from the cousellor ? She told me when I am out

in the public and I become anxious, to focus on what I

am thinking. She said usually it is our own thoughts

that we are thinking about that causes the anxiety. I

tried that and I realize it really is. She also said,

sometimes you may not know exactly what is causing it,

it may of been a previous experience, and now you have

locked on to a " sound " , " smell " or something in

your memory that triggers the fight or flight response

in you and you feel like you need to get away from

that situation. It is true, I do that a lot. Just

thought I would pass this on, thanks for reading,

Thanks for the info. Usually it's the negative self-talk that brings on the

anxiety. I know this and I need to work on it. I will keep what you

mentioned in mind.

Thanks so much,

and Tess,

I am way behind on posts, and don't think I will catch up. I also

have problems with social anxiety, I have had it all my life. Tawny
