Guest guest
Dear Steve, What's the experiment? Lots have been tried - ex. Gauquelin, a sceptic, who became an astrologer himself. As Jung has pointed out, it is the oldest "science" historically speaking, and is listed as such, I am told, by the Science Museum in NYC. Trying to explain it is hard because words involve a bi-cameral mind and that cannot Know; it can only point to another organ of perception. Hence " The Tao that can be defined is not the Tao.." As Jung points out "The longest journey most of us have to travel is from the head to the heart." If intellect alone cld answer these questions, you wld be greater than the answer - then what? A little humility is called for, I suspect, and a bit of humor helps. Figg Newton's Tale in my THE BEEJUM BOOK is a case in point. I used to give a seminar called "The Joy of Wisdom and the Wisdom of Joy" and then someone pointed out that in Proverbs (8:22-31) in the Old Testament, Wisdom is described as co-creator with God and "full of delight, wanting to be helpful to mankind". Sad to say, Hagia Sophia, Holy Wisdom, got translated by the RC Church wh dominated European medieval history onward, to the Latin spiritus sanctus, which takes a masculine pronoun! and so the Trinity became all masculine! In all other cultures Wisdom is considered feminine. In the Greek n Russian Orthodox churches, she remains Sophia. The denial of the balance of masc/fem is now the topic of sexual disgrace in the Vatican and is making headlines this very day! The . Buddhists say that the masculine provides skill , and the feminine [Tara], wisdom "It takes two to tango!" I believe there is a CREDO 38 called "The Milkstool Principle" on the need for Love, Wisdom, and Power. If you leave one of the 3 out,......? Well, enough! Just remember that my own only claim to any wisdom whatever is that I truly know HOW MUCH I DON'T KNOW!! love always, definitely infirm Old Lady ao In a message dated 5/21/2010 9:14:
