Guest guest
Half an hour ago, a vet came to our home and released our beloved dog from her suffering. It was a peaceful exit, and after a good cry, I am left with a spiritual sense of understanding about life's beginnings, endings, and challenging in-betweens. In my view, attachment and clinging cause suffering--attachment to people, to the health we used to enjoy, to fantasies of wealth, to addictive cravings for food, etc. If something gets in the way of our strong desires, we suffer. The alternative is to simply accept the way things are. I used to have a healthy body, I do not now. I used to have a dog, that dog is gone. I can let the tears flow, feel the pain, but there is peace when I soften and let things be, just as they are. Wishing you all peace today.
