Guest guest
Tess my dear friend, for most of us life is just that, and emotional journey. The highs and lows we experience on a continual basis from our health problems are accentuated by our personalities to a large degree.I am a very positive person and can usually always accept whatever comes my way. However, having said that, it is the highs and lows that make it necessary for me to be on anti-depressants probably the rest of my life. I go into every operation with such high expectations and a positive state of mind but darn it anyway it is a real bummer for me after the fact. I had my feet reconstructed believing this would solve all my problems since I would be able to walk without pain, wear nice shoes etc. NOT. A few months after going crazy with buying shoes, two bones started falling through on my left foot and my right ankle got much worse, now I cannot wear most of my newly purchased shoes. I think because I am so positive with each operation and only think of the great benefits, my disappointments just devastate me. Just look at your many accomplishment Tess, you have worked so hard to make a better life for yourself and succeeded. Your weight loss has brought so many personal changes and I think it is only natural to expect more, forgetting that you are still the same person as before the weight loss. I have watched your struggles and accomplishments with awe and know you are a very special and unique lady. As someone else said, don't be so hard on yourself.
