Guest guest
Corrine: When I was newly diagnosed with RA, I agreed to go on a camping trip with a friend of mine. I told her I would only go if I was well enough to do so, and that she had to understand that I may have to cancel at the last minute if I flared up. Well.....sure enough, I started what was my worst flare to date - 2 days prior to leaving for the weekend trip. She was a little pissed off when I told her. I even sensed that she though I wasn't really as sick as I said I was. Keep in mind, I just got diagnosed earlier this year and really had no other major symptoms before that. Whenever I flare, I don't have visitors or go out anywhere....so my friends/family don't see what it's like when things are bad. My friend had to stop by my place prior to heading out of town to pick up some items she needed for the trip. She took one look at my hands and feet and her eyes filled with tears. She apologized profusely, and said she didn't realize how bad RA was. I'm waiting for Oprah to do a show on RA. You don't really hear about it anywhere. The first information I received about it was from doing a Google search after being newly diagnosed. Thanks for your reply, > > > > >

Guest guest
, Don't wait for Oprah to do a show. She only does things that interest " her. " I belong to another group of women who have lost multiple babies some at an early stage and others like myself around 6 months or later. We wrote to her and asked her to do a show on the truth about multiple pregnancies(not the ones you hear like the mom who had 7 babies and they are all " fine " ) There are more problems with multiple pregnancies than not but the media plays up how wonderful and problem free they are. Oprah wrote us all a very generic letter basically saying thanks but no thanks. After that, I had very little interest in her show as it is really all about " her " . off my soap box now lol take care sandie
