lot of pain today in mid back and through to my chest, got so bad I

went into the hospital to have my GP take a look at me. he said that

the connective tissue between my ribs and sternum is inflamed and that

it was most likely the RA... anyone else ever had this?

Dear Kerri,

Wow, I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago!! Felt

like I was having a heart attack, but they said it was a muscle spasm,

but could be costochondritis (sp?) My doc said if it happened again,

not to wait, go while I'm still in pain (I waited until it subsided

before.) Scary, isn't it?

Kathy,

Can you tell me what costchondritis is and the symptoms? My ribs have been

bothering me. I thought right away maybe it was something to do with the

surgeries I have

had. Now I am thinking that is not what is wrong. I think I may have had this

before.

Kerry,

It sounds like Costochondritis (Tietze's Syndrome). I've got articles

on my webpage about it:

http://rheumatoid.arthritis.freehosting.net/

Rheumatoid Arthritis.html#costo

Flares can be very painful. I hope you feel better.
