Guest guest
In a few emails and here on the board, I've heard lots of talk about Ultram lately. I was on Ultram for months while I was pg. (Had nephro tube and kidney stones.) Eventually, I went to Demerol as Ultram was not working for me. I told the doc I was allergic to Codiene. Right on the bottle, it said, " Do not take if allergic to Codiene. " Doc said to try it, it should be fine. I did. And it was fine the whole time I was on it. It did make my kidney bleed a bit more, but that's another post. So, I have some in my closet from when I was on it. I tried it today for the RA pain. It took about an hour or so, but most of the pain is gone. Yippee!!! About a 1/2 hr after the pain is mostly gone, I start to itch. And itch. And itch. Oh my gosh! I feel like I will rip my skin off at any minute bc it's so bad. I took Benedryl for the itch. It's not working!! For 6 hours now, I have been scratching myself silly. *sigh* I am now allergic to Ultram. LOL I have to laugh at the irony or I will go mad!!! I do believe they are on their way from the funny farm any minute now. Jen
Guest guest
Awwwwwwwwwweee Jen, I feel for you, one thing I can't stand it itching! I too am allergic to codeine, but so far am able to take the Ultram, I am taking the generic form, I dont know it makes a difference, it is Tramadol. I dont take a lot of it, I wont take it unless the pain is really really bad. It works. Hope you are itch free now. I have been unable to get into to respond to posts, Take care, call your doctor if the itching hasnt stopped .. __________________________________________________
