Guest guest
Hello all! It has been a while since I have been on here and played catch up! Things have been moving along swiftly! will be 14 (MDS) on May 16th...and she is in the 6th grade now ...working on goin to the 7th grade! Devyn, 12 is also in the 6th grade working towards the 7th grade as well. In Sept. I started on birth control due to hard and bad periods on her and because she is so easily influenced. I dont want to be a grandma anytime soon! She is boy crazy as any teenager would be! LOL So anyways in January of this year after having noticed had put on a quiet a bit of weight I brought her to the doctor. I expressed my concerns and he said it was the borth control but after pointing out that had gained nearly 40 puonds in 4 months he checked the thyroids. Not an easy task with she HATES needles! Finally after 2 days we got the results....s glad had stopped working all together! WOW! So now must take Synthroid every day for the rest of her life! Honestly this is something new to us all... has not had a lot of typical " symptoms " related to a child with Down Syndrome. She has always been healthy and this was a shock to our family, very much so! But we have come to terms with it, and has lost 5 puonds. I make her exercise more and we really dont eat junk food in my house! She is healthier. After 4 years their father decided to be a part of their lives again which has created a lot of stress for . She isnt comfortable being there with him and his family. She doesnt want to go back..he doesnt really know her and would rather punish her than to understand where she is coming from, so we are working on this matter! But most recently my mother has taken ill and must be taken care of so it looks like we are moving to Wallis, Texas this summer! Never thought I would live in Texas again, but i do believe the kids and I could use a fresh start! I have nearly gone to jail this year! was suspended 4 times in a month from her regular Jr high and was put in alternative school because they didnt want to give her time (5 minutes was all that was asked of them) when she had a melt down! I nearly ripped the principal in two! And when my daughter came home and said the asst. principal called her retarded, well I almost went to jail again! So you guys it has been a difficult year but through the glory and grace of GOD, and lots of prayers, we have prevailed and will continue to do so! Im sorry this has been back and forth and up and down, was jsut telling you as it all came back to me! lol I hope that this note finds you all well and safe! Have a great day!
