Guest guest
, Good luck in getting into the pain clinic soon. In the meantime try to hang in there as I know that is easier said then done It has made a huge difference for me in my life. The pain clinic where I go also addresses both aspects of pain from the medications and the overall well being in how to manage it. I also attend a follow up group meeting that meets every other a week. I was in a 8 week pain management program that teaches you how to manage the daily stuff from stretching exercises, mental health using relaxation and many discussions to better educate on ways to manage then most importantly I learned that pacing is the most important and critical for me to manage my pain levels. Also one of the most difficult things for anyone to master in managing the day to day stuff. I believe anyways. Hugs and Happy Holidays!! Guest guest
Lynn, Fortunately for me.. I inherited the biggest part of my mother's tolerance for pain.. She was at the tail end of her terminal illness before she needed, or asked for anything for the pain. I think the doctor's were astounded in that area, because she should have had pain.. She had a type of leukemia, that isn't really any "type" of leukemia (in laymen's terms they called it pre-leukemia).. which only meant that they didn't have any treatment for it until it converted into some "type" that they had a treatment for.. I think that it might be a good thing that I inherited some of that from her.. at least in most cases it is.. In some cases.. I just go with flow, rather than seeking out a doctor, and sometimes that's not good either... When I was growing up, my parents didn't take me to the doctor for every sore throat or every runny nose.. You had to be downright near death, I think, to go see the doctor.. LOL.. I guess it's just something ingrained or learned or some such thing.. However, it does tend to T me off when I do call the doctor these days, and they blow me off! Because I still don't call them for every little thing.. so if I do call them.. it's because I think it's something that needs attention.. Awww.. we won't go there.. LOL.. I'm still p.o.'d at the neurologist from last week... |)onna Re: not getting any better GOOD MORNING AMANDA, PAMELA, SHARON, AND DONNA AS I READ ALL OF YOUR POSTS I WAS THINKING AND I BELIEVE THAT SHIRLEY SENT SOME ADDRESSES FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT AND I ALSO TYPED IN PAIN MANAGEMENT AND THERE ARE SEVERAL OUT THERE.
