Guest guest
I understand all of them saying its " in your head " ... my family says it to me... Eventhough, I've got elevated RA, elevated platelets, carpal tunnel palsy, impinged nerves, bulging discs, severe migraines and evidence of a loose joint syndrome.... its all in my head. I think they think we have some kind of power in our minds to turn things on and off... if that was the case, I'd turn off all their crap... after two years, I finally got a doctor yesterday who said " there REALLY is something wrong " while dictating something about me, I'm not sure if he was trying to convince me or the doctor he was dictating to... I get so angry with people... and I hope when the day comes that they are sick, they have someone on their side, because its the only thing they'll have when it comes down to it. good luck, and like I told my doc last month, maybe it is all in my head but its your job to fix that too!!! )

Guest guest
Kim, I know that I am new to this group. But may I say something? Whether you are " diagnosed " with these diseases or still searching...it doesn't change tha tyou have the same problems, concerns and pains as the rest of us. So as far as " belonging to the group " ....you're stuck! Just like us! LOL God Bless and I'm praying for you! Prisicilla ksamedifference <ksamedifference@...> wrote: Hello again! I can now add something to my arsenal of meds. Meclazine on top of the tylenol! Anyhow, I did ask about the shrinkage and he as usual dismissed it. He stated that b4 someone just must of wrote it down wrong and when I went to the Rheumy-their measuring must be off. So - that explains it!!!! 3+ inches by someone elses accord is all my head as well. Shirley kinda cornered him with " is it all in her head " and the answer was an astounding, YEP!!! Only he did say it in a kinder manner, It must be neurological. Went off into head injury babble and then said, " and there is no magic pill for that either " . I was floored and replied that I wasn't aware of any magic pill for anything. He did actually talk for a minute - now, if he actually listened is another story. I do however go for a CT scan on Monday of my head and neck. The bone spurs did show up on my plain x-rays and he said that it isn't anyhing. The report said more but he wouldn't elaborate. He is doing the CT scan with contrast. I believe he is looking for head trauma and damage? Don't know. I'm kinda concerned though - I have bulged disc's, that is nothing, DDD - nothing, Bone spurs(posterior osteophytes) nothing, It all really boils down to nothing. Nothing is wrong. I did tell him that I am considering committing myself and electing to have ECT so I won't know who I am or that I'm in any kind of pain. He said nothing. So maybe the it is the next step. Anyhow, I probably will let all of you know Monday or Tuesday what the CT scan showed - my guess is nothing. On the tests up to now that show everything is nothing. The bloodwork that is positive and my climbing ESR is nothing. So, I guess I'm crazy for nothing? I don't know? I am about to just give up as I am perfectly okay other than my head. He also stated that it isn't osteo because the MRI I had 3 1/2 years ago b4 the rapid shrinkage occured showed nothing other than the spurs and bulged disc's that amounts to nothing! I have hit the end of the line and I am now so afraid that Monday is gonna roll around and by the end of the day I may be in the mental ward. Oh, the muscle deteriation is all in my head. Maybe he is onto something? B4 I thought he must be on the crack! LOL Now, I guess he is onto me and my head. So anyhow, I will probably just post supportive messages for now and come Monday I guess will we know if I should even be in the group. I do want to thank each and everyone for all the kind words and kinship and I HOPE THAT TODAY IS A GOOD DAY FOR YOU!!!! xxx'S kIM

Guest guest
For what reason did your doctor prescribe the Meclazine? Did he give you a diagnosis or just give it to you to see if it helped the dizziness? I sure wish you could see a doctor that you liked and trusted. I was floored when I read that your pcp said there was no such thing as the Rheumatoid Factor test. That's scary! It is common to see bone spurs and bulging discs. Many people have them and they don't give them any problems at all. If the spurs or bulging discs don't press on nerves, generally they don't cause a problem. But without an MRI, they don't know if they are pressing on nerves. I sure hope you will get some answers so this doctor stops insinuating that everything is all in your head. a On Jul 23, 2005, at 10:50 AM, ksamedifference wrote: > Hello again! I went to the doc on Thursday and couldn't remember if > it was the follow-up on my neck or the arthritis visit. It was the > neck but, no matter - it pretty much was the standard bull___! Oddly > enough, the 1st. thing he did is come into the room and b4 saying > anything he walked over and looked into my ears. I was dizzy last > month! I was dizzy the month b4 that! Hello! I can now add > something to my arsenal of meds. Meclazine on top of the tylenol! > Anyhow, I did ask about the shrinkage and he as usual dismissed it. > He stated that b4 someone just must of wrote it down wrong and when I > went to the Rheumy-their measuring must be off. So - that explains > it!!!! 3+ inches by someone elses accord is all my head as well. > Shirley kinda cornered him with " is it all in her head " and the > answer was an astounding, YEP!!! Only he did say it in a kinder > manner, It must be neurological. Went off into head injury babble > and then said, " and there is no magic pill for that either " . I was > floored and replied that I wasn't aware of any magic pill for > anything. Guest guest
Your Dr. sounds exaclty like my X doctor I had..! I stuck with his insanity for three years, but after puttin me in the ER for six hours after something he ordered me to do, I said enough is enough!! Please get away from that guy ! You know as well as I do, you are not nuts. You know your body better than anyone, and he sounds like one of those doctors who never wavers from his own highly opinion, and has zero respect for women , or patients who dare to have someting he cant write off with a prescription he just keeps repeating himself, just to brush you off so he can get to his next patient and make more money pushing his pen. Ok, now that I got that off my chest, I do hope you will look for another doctor. I do not recall where you are, but word of mouth is a good way to find a good, caring doctor sometimes. Hang in there, and don't let him convince you it's in " your mind " or " your nerves " . Gosh how often my x-doc had me convinced I was a cry baby and a complainer. Now I know, you really can't trust some doctors. Take care, and I do hope you are feeling somewhat relieved or relaxed by the time you get around to readin this . Find a new Dr.! ____________________________________________________ Start your day with - make it your home page http://www./r/hs
