Guest guest
Hello, Mike! We haven't formally responded to each-other's posts yet...so I am sorry to respond if only for clarification: You say you can take 750 mgs of Vicodin as needed? Either you have an extremely generous MD, or there's a typo somewhere! Sorry, You can take the Nurse out of the workforce, but you can't take the Nurse out of the woman (or something like that! lol). " Vicodin " is the brand name for hydrocodone + acetaminophen (tylenol). There are several different strengths: Vicodin 5mg = hydrocodone 5mg + acetaminophen 500mg Vicodin 7.5mg = hydrocodone 7.5mg + acetaminophen 325mg OR = hydrocodone 7.5mg + acetaminophen 500mg Vicodin 10mg = hydrocodone 10mg + acetaminophen 325mg (This doseage is usually prescribed under another brand name, such as " Norco. " ) So, you see Mike, You would have to be taking 100 pills of the 7.5mg Vicodin to equal 750mgs! Don't mean to be " nit-picky, " just trying to clarify so there is NO confusion > went to my pain management doc this week and she raised my moraphine to 45 mgs. every 6 hrs. and 750 mgs. vicadin as needed. weather really stinks here in indiana this las week. dennis stuck around for most of the week . still raining on and off till tuesday. humidy AWFUL. youor friend always mike > > __________________________________________________ >

Guest guest
Mike: I hope the change in your pain meds has given you better control over the pain. Do you find that you're tired all the time from the fatigue of the pain with the combo of the meds??? Hope the weather changes for the better soon! > went to my pain management doc this week and she raised my moraphine to 45 mgs. every 6 hrs. and 750 mgs. vicadin as needed. weather really stinks here in indiana this las week. dennis stuck around for most of the week . still raining on and off till tuesday. humidy AWFUL. youor friend always mike > > __________________________________________________ >

Guest guest
Hey Dennis, Actually Lortab IS EXACTLY the same as Vicodin 7.5mg.: just different manufacturers, and also (especially if your doctor said they were two different meds)MOST people think of Vicodin as the 5mg (hydrocodone) and Lortab as the 7.5mg (hydrocodone). The only real difference, is that vicodin comes in several strengths, lortab only comes in 7.5mg strength. Anyway, that's my two sense-worth! But hey - here's some info that matters! You CAN get a " drip " meds that works for you continuously!! However, your MD may not want to just " jump " to the BIG_GUNS so quickly. Usually, once an MD sees that he will be treating pain on a continuous basis, he will opt for a more sustained-release medication, such as oxycontin or ms-contin. Also there is Fentanyl or Duragesic (Brand name) patches, which leach analgesia medication continuously thru the skin for 48-72 hrs. Down the road, is the " drip. " There are intra-spinal (actually goes in the " dural " space-not the spinal canal) and under-the=skin pumps that give continuous " drip " medication! OK: so that's my 4-cents worth! Thanks for replying back! And I'm glad that so little amount of pain med helps you. > >> went to my pain management doc this week and she raised my > > moraphine to 45 mgs. every 6 hrs. and 750 mgs. vicadin as needed. > > weather really stinks here in indiana this las week. dennis stuck > > around for most of the week . still raining on and off till tuesday. > > humidy AWFUL. youor friend always mike > >> > >> __________________________________________________ > >>
