Guest guest
I hope all is well for everyone and your days have been wonder-filled and pain free. I've been hopping from doctor to doctor the last few days and mentally preparing myself for my surgery on tuesday. I am not sleeping more than 2-3 hours a night, anxiety has got the best of me now. I got " relatively good " results from my colonoscopy this week and found out today from my GP that my rheumy wants to start me on metabolic medicines because I appear to be in the beginning stages of insulin resistance (my mother is very sick from diabetes. Sometimes I feel as if God is looking down at me and laughing, because just when one thing starts to clear up, something else comes down. I'm really not into his sarcastic sense of humor, lol. I'm so tired. If this is what life is like at 28, I just can't picture myself at 68 and that scares me. Tawny, do all you can for your step daughter, when I was a child I was very abused, and if someone had stepped forward and said something, these things would not have happened. Those who saw and said nothing are just as guilty as the perpetrators in my eyes. Therefore, I think its everyones responsiblity to step up and take care, I applaud you for doing that. I have a question about xrays and mri's...I had mri's and films done about 5 years ago for an injury and no one said anything of rheumatoid, does it always show up on films? Does anyone else run fevers and get swollen glands off and on... thats the one thing that alerted my GP to test for rheumatoid and I didn't know it was even associated, of course I really don't know much about this yet... I am in the process of appealing a Social security disability claim. when I first applied a year ago I had not been diagnosed with anything. now, a year later, my diagnosis are rheumatoid arthritis, carpal tunnel palsy, Irritable bowel syndrome, kidney stones and chronic infections, hypermenorrhia, dysmenorrhia, insulin resistance, loose joint syndrome, and severe migraines, I don't know if this will qualify me, I do know however that I am in no shape to hold a job, does anyone have any insight on this. (when I tried to get a lawyer through legal aid they would not represent me because of my age and education) thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, I pray you all enjoy your days and sleep your nights. Thank you for listening and understanding. kerri sue
Guest guest
Kerri Sue, Your going through a horrible time, wish I was closer to you. I can imagine your nerves with the surgery on Tuesday. Just know that I will be praying for you, so hang in there. I will do my best for her. It is so painful to realize how many children our caught in these situations. It seems like there should be some type of action to help our kids in this country. Just don't give up on your SS, I am glad to hear your appealing. I live in OK, and in the yellow pages there are so many attorneys that wil take a SS case, and only collect if you are approved. Take care, and I am always here, Tawny > I hope all is well for everyone and your days have been wonder- filled > and pain free. Guest guest
Kerry, I would say that your rheumy is very much on the ball. A lot of full-blown diabetes doesn't get diagnosed these days. I think that I had it years before I was diagnosed, because I already had neuropathy (nerve damage) in my feet, and that takes years to develop. It will be much to your advantage to nip it in the bud early and perhaps delay it by many years. I wonder if he wants to start you on metformin, or maybe Actos or Avandia. Since you seem to be a prime candidate for diabetes, any steps you take now may keep it at bay for a long time. Limiting carbs is a good idea, and exercising as much as you can. Of my two diseases, RA and diabetes, I much prefer diabetes, LOL, because there are steps I can take to control it. Keep us updated about this.
