Guest guest
Recently I have been having a lot of pain in my hips and knees, especially my hips. I don't know if Enbrel is becoming less effective, or it's just that Celebrex is not effective as Bextra was, or the RA is progressing. The strange thing is that this pain is much worse when I go to bed. Why would this be the case? It seems that these joints would hurt more during the day when I'm moving about and weight is on them more. Who said RA made sense, anyway? Has anyone else here experienced pain like this? I see the rheumy in a couple of weeks, so I'll see what he has to say about it, but in the meantime, I'd like to hear about the experiences of others. Guest guest
Hi Sue: I, too, have a lot of hip and knee pain at night, more so in my hips. I don't notice it a lot during the day (I have FM too so my muscles are always aching) in the joints, but during the night I will be awakened by severe hip pain on whatever side I am lying on. I cannot sleep on my back or stomach, so I flip from side to side during the night. The pain radiates from my hips down to my feet, and I sometimes have to take a pain pill to help myself get back to sleep. Maybe when we are going during the day our muscles and ligaments are giving support to those joints, and at night, during sleep, those muscles and ligaments relax and we then feel the pain more? I really don't know, but I sure can understand what you are talking about. I even got a 2 " memory foam mattress, which does help, but I still wake up with hip and leg pain.
