I have never had thrush, sorry your going through that. I hope the

doctor can give you some answers when you go to your appointment.

Take care, Tawny

Oh ! , I have had thrush but not all the way

down my esophagus, you poor girl. I hope things get

better for you soon. The doctor gave me a prescription

rinse you swish around in your mouth and then swallow

it. You only use a tiny bitat a time. May I suggest (

you probably already know ) get a new toothbrush also.

Good luck, hoping for speedy healing for you, in

Are you still on Prednisone? Steroids also are a major culprit. I've

never had thrush, but I used to

get vaginal yeast infections every time I took antibiotics until I

found out about acidophilus, which is the good

bacteria that is found in yogurt or sold as supplements. Now I know to

take it if I'm on antibiotics.

Here is a good article from CNN on oral thrush:

http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/library/DS/00408.html

I hope it clears up quickly. I'm sure it is quite painful.

I am on 5 mg a day, which the doctor said is the equivalent of what

your body makes, so that probably is not the problem. He said that

if I had an existing infection, the steroid shot I got last week may

have exacerbated the problem, but I don't think I had anything

before that. Who knows.

I hope that you are feeling better. I have never had

thrush before, but it sounds terrible. I remember my

daughter had it one time when she had been on alot of

antibiotics.
