I've watched so many people develop this reactivity and go through the same discovery process that it boggles my mind that doctors don't see the pattern. Sooner or later you've got to ask how it is that you got so damn sick and others with the same exposure did not. Lifestyle? Stress? Most of us never had a dissipated lifestyle that would warrant this. Stress, BAH! - " I think " Perpetual Toxic Shock Disorder " just about nails it. Too often I have found that people experiencing health problems run to a support group with a symptomology that most matches theirs and then searches for answers within the context of this specific " disease " or " syndrome. " But come to find out (thanks to people like Albert Donnay and others with eyes wide open) these are not separate syndromes but overlap. For instance, many of us have experienced symptoms of multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) as part of our mold exposure - but so do people overwhelmed by pesticides or chemicals like new carpets give off. Many people talk about the pain associated with toxic mold exposure but others - like those with fibromyalgia and EMS (Eosinophilia-Myalgia Syndrome) etc. also experience great pain. Take off the labels and what you see are millions of people - mostly in their 40's and 50's walking around with virtually the same problem - PTSD. Stress didn't put us on the " Group W " bench and neither did our lifestyles. Like Mulder, I think the truth is out there and it's a biggie - else why would the CDC strike such a deliberate pose of nonchalance as they use millions of dollars of money earmarked for CFIDS for other projects. The same goes for Gulf War syndrome and the misuse of research money. Is it only given to researchers whose projects will lead us away from the truth - rather than people like Garth Nicholson who seem to be on to something important? There is a lot that needs to be pondered...and re-pondered. Barbara
