Guest guest
If there is only mold on the joists and subfloor, disinfecting and completely sealing with spray paint could solve the problem. If mold is growing between the subflooring and flooring, you may have to eliminate the flooring and subflooring, as compression of the floor changes the pressure of the air in the space between the floor and subfloor and may send mold into the basement between subfloor cracks. All of the subfloors and floor joists are covered in mold. My insurance company says they can treat the mold and once the wood is dry our problem will be gone. My wife and son have asthma and he is very allergic to mold. We do not know what to do. The insurance company wants to repair the house. The cost to repair the house is about the same if we were to tear it down and rebuild a new home. We want it torn down, but I can't get them to even talk about it. This is the same company that has to pay $32M on a mold case. Any suggestions would help.
