Guest guest
Hello Everyone! Went to RA doc on the 12th. Good news! I lost all the baby weight. I'm guess it's just in different places now bc my clothes from pre-pg still don't fit. LOL Anyhoo, she put me on Lodine. The swelling is down but the pain is not. I called her last night and she told me to supplement w/ Tylenol. I have 2 issues with that. 1 - For my body, Tylenol is like taking water. It will do nothing. 2 - Taking Tylenol continuously, as in 1000mg, twice per day, is NOT good for your liver. I go see her again in 3 wks for a " discussion appt. " Which means, we'll talk about my labs, and new xrays, and we'll go from there. She thinks that I still " have a few years. " I don't know what she meant by that. I think she meant a few years til meds. ???? I can tell you this. Yesterday, while breaking up ground meat, my wrist and hand...I was nearly in tears. I couldn't move it. Then today, while folding laundry, my right shoulder started hurting. And my wrist started to get really weak. At the appt, she was asking about symptoms that I have - like dry eyes, for one - I didn't realize that was RA related. She was bending my legs here and there, and it was hurting my hip. I didn't know my hip was affected until she did that. I really hope she doesn't make me wait for meds. The Aleve was working better for pain but with this Lodine, I can no longer take the Aleve. I don't know what I'm going to do now. Thanks for reading. Jen
Guest guest
Jenn, Great news on the weight loss!!!! When you go back to the doctor, let her know what your going through. You need to be on a good med to stop the progression of the RA. Your right that much Tylenol isn't good on you. Let her know about your pain level. Take care, Tawny --- In , " saralaughs02 " <saralaughs02@y...> wrote: > Hello Everyone! > > Went to RA doc on the 12th. Good news! Guest guest
Jen, I'd be wondering what she means by say saying you still have a few years too. If your rheumatologist doesn't treat your disease, I'd consider finding a new doctor. You can be having irreversible damage while she is waiting for I don't know what. The American College of Rheumatology states that early treatment is best to prevent damage. I'd question why she wants to wait and express your concerns. You're so right about the Tylenol and your liver. If the Aleve was working better, let her know. a On Jul 15, 2005, at 4:57 PM, saralaughs02 wrote: > Hello Everyone! > > Went to RA doc on the 12th. Good news! I lost all the baby weight. > I'm guess it's just in different places now bc my clothes from pre-pg > still don't fit. LOL > > Anyhoo, she put me on Lodine. The swelling is down but the pain is > not. I called her last night and she told me to supplement w/ > Tylenol. I have 2 issues with that. 1 - For my body, Tylenol is > like taking water. It will do nothing. 2 - Taking Tylenol > continuously, as in 1000mg, twice per day, is NOT good for your > liver. > > I go see her again in 3 wks for a " discussion appt.
