Researchers at Indiana State University say they've found a link between phthalates and the auto-immune disease lupus. Their study, in mice, found that exposure to phthalates triggered lupus in mice who were genetically predisposed to it. Phthalates are used in millions of plastic products including toys and medical devices. They are also used in many cosmetics and fragrances.
