I too was in denial (for a very short period of time). What I really needed was a new doctor and I did get one, but I though I could beat it. I went to my general practitioner (who I trust) and she said " are you crazy " (just a figure of speech) and " do you know what RA can do to your body. " Well, with her help I found a new RA doctor and finally received acknowledgment from him that yes you have this and it does need to be treated. Not really a hero, though : ) Just someone who's hoping like crazy that others won't have to see as much suffering. I'm so happy that you had a knowledgeable and caring GP who pushed you towards better care. I'm very glad you've found a good RD who's acknowledging and treating your disease.
