Guest guest
I am lucky enough to not have any adverse side effects from Enbrel. I am no more fatigued the day after the shot as on any other days. I am retired and can sleep late, but I do that every day, LOL. Guest guest
I do not have any known adverse side effects from Enbrel. It began to take effect very quickly for me, probably less than a month. Of course we are all different in how we react to medications. But I try to go in with the attitude that I'm not going to have adverse side effects when I start a new med. I don't read about all the side effects, because then I might subconsciously give them to myself, LOL. If something new starts happening to me, THEN I'll look and see if that is one of the possible side effects. Good luck, and I hope you get quick relief. Guest guest
I also take Enbrel with MTX. I noticed a difference about 2 weeks after I started taking Enbrel. I take the 25mg dose twice a week mostly because my rheumatologist and I haven't heard very good reports with the once a week 50mg dose. I haven't noticed any side effects except for a mild itching at the injection site that only last a few hours to maybe a day. I know what you mean about getting sick with the MTX. I didn't have any of that with Enbrel. It is certaintly worth giving a try. Good luck with it. What are you studying in school? Take care.......Marina

Guest guest
Hi: I am on Mtx 25mg weekly and recently began Enbrel - about a month ago. This combo is supposed to be very good, and I am hopeful that I can gradually reduce the Mtx once the Enbrel really kicks in. I have noticed that I am very fatigued the day after the shot, as is the same with the Mtx, but that the day after that I feel much better and have more energy. That energy boost usually lasts until the day before the next shot, and then the cycle goes on. Hopefully my energy will continue to increase. I have noticed also reduction in pain, but it does start to come back when the shot is due. I have taken Enbrel in the past and had a lot of benefit from it, and am hoping that the same will happen again. So, the only real side effect I have with the Enbrel is the fatigue and also some bruising at the injection site, nothing more. If you get sick you need to skip the doses until you are well again as continuing to take it could cause the illness to worsen or linger longer. I would say you should definately try the Enbrel - it might take about a month to begin to feel the effects, but could also be sooner. Guest guest
Like I told Abby--I was getting no relief from the mtx pills or injections. When the enbrel was added to the mix I saw an immediate change. In fact, I woke up the morning after my first enbrel shot and could get out of bed without cringing in pain from my knees and feet. My energy level is also back. That was 5 weeks ago and I am still pain and fatigue free! My rheumy was thrilled at my last appointment the other day. (that means I get to go off prednisone! yay!) As far as adverse reactions go, I haven't noticed any--yet. That doesn't mean that someone else hasn't had any, though. We all have the same condition but will react differently to different things. But, communicate with your MD and things should be all right! good luck. diana louisiana --- Sue <marysue@...> wrote: > I do not have any known adverse side effects from > Enbrel.
