Hi all,

How many of you are on Enbrel and MTX? I am taking Enbrel and my

rheumatologist and I talked about adding MTX in the Fall when it starts raining

more

since I have more problem with rainy weather. I am hoping to avoid adding MTX

because I just don't want to take any more meds but I'm curious what other

folks are doing.

Thanks,

Abby

Hi there,

I am on Enbrel, Methotrexate and Arava. My newest treatment is Enbrel.

It is starting to give me relief finally. I don't like taking so much

medication either but we have to do what we have to do.

Good luck!

Abby,

I have been on MTX for awhile, first with Humira, and now with

Plaquenil. It works well for me, Tawny

Hi there, Abby. I started out on MTX alone. Then went through

Remicaid and Kineret before going onto Enbrel. I was taking 25mg of

MTX pills up until April. I was switched to the injection at that

point to see if it wouldn't be more effective. It was. I have fewer

GI side effects from the injection than I did with the pills and I

also find that it is much more effective. You don't lose as much of

it through digestion if you take by injection. The combination has

been VERY effective. Don't expect the pills to be effective

overnight. It takes time for MTX to build up in your system...Marina

I was actually taking MTX by mouth as the first

treatment option and was switched to MTX injections

when the pills didn't work. Then, the injections

weren't working by themselves and that's when he added

enbrel in addition to the mtx. I felt almost an

immediate difference! The two meds work so well

together for me! I do my enbrel injection on friday

mornings and mtx injection on saturday mornings. It's

really not that bad! Good luck.

Abby,

I take both, allthough I have not been on Enbrel but

about a month. I feel great other than my frozen

shoulder being sore. I seem to feel better with more

energy.I hope this helps.

I've been on Enbrel since 1999 and will be starting MTX injections next

week. The injectable form has been backordered, so I've had to wait to

get it. I finally got it yesterday and will be starting on a low dose

on Monday. I too don't want to take any more meds, but the combo of

MTX and Enbrel are showing the greatest success, so I'll try it.

Hi

I have been taking MTX and Enbrel for a few years and my joint deformity and

progression of disease has slowed quite considerably. I have actually gone

skiing in Aspen Colorado! I have my moments with heat and humitidy...other than

that, I wake each day with little to no pain and stiffness.

Good luck-

Side effects of meth, 2.5 mg, 4 dose, once a week is fatigue. Sometimes

headache.

I am 34 years old,
