OK, you guys know me, and I have to share my Herman's Hermits story. I saw them

twice in Portland. The one I was in LOVE with was Lek, the guy in the black

square kind of glasses (I'm not sure I'm spelling his name right.) Well, my

firend and I ALWAYS left concerts early to go out and watch the limos leave

(this wqas in 64 or thereabouts.) Well, the last time we saw HH's we were out

there on a warm night and the limo p[ulled out with windows rolled

down...OO. I did not see , but I SAW LEK and ran straight for him, my

hand extended in the limo window and I TOUCHED HIM! Oh the glory of it all. : )

I think I was 13. So, being in 7th heaven, when I got home I plugged the sink

and washed my hands with Lek's germs on them (I know, I kow... : ) then took a

jar and scooped up the most precious water, sealed it up, and hid it in my

dresser drawer. I would get the jar out every so often (like 5 times a day) and

have my WONDERFUL memory of my 'encounter' with Lek, the man of my dreams.

I came home from school one day months later, and went to look at my magical

jar. IT WAS GONE!!!!! I was so upset. I ran to my Mom and asked if she knew

what happened to a jar that I kept in my dresser. My Momma, sweet, innocent,

and immaculate as she is, said these sad words, " Oh, honey, you mean the glass

jar with the disgusting little green things floating in it? Well, of course I

threw it out! " AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I cried. I told her those were not just yucky things and germs but LEK'S GERMS!

She held me, and said she was sorry, but didn't want me getting sick no matter

whose germ's they were.

We talk abou this to this day!

Thanks for reminding me of a WONDERFUL time in my life.
