Guest guest
Hi everyone ... Ebony's email prompted some thinking on my part, as did Ken's. I have not been on the list very long, but in the brief time that I have, I've read about so much pain, both physical or emotional. Let's put the physical pain aside for now, although I think we can all agree that both are definitely related. Emotionally, we've shared everything from alcoholism, abuse, death of a spouse, illness of children, death of children, missing adult children, concern for grandkids, depression, suicide attempts, moves, divorce, work related issues, filing for disability and MUCH more. I'm pretty internet savvy and am on quite a few lists (OK, a LOT of lists). There is no list that I am on that is more generous with information or experience; compassionate; and empathetic. There's an underlying spiritual respect for others here, in spite of some different belief systems and religious persuasions (or lack thereof, for some, perhaps). This list is full of people with a tremendous amount of pain and suffering, and yet this is NOT a list of victims. Do you realize how amazing that is? I think each person here can be proud about your part in raising the collective consciousness of people living with a chronic illness. I humbly salute each one of you.
