New bed!

We finally broke down and got a new bed. Ours has been pretty bad

for probably 2-3 years, now, and some days I couldn't decide if I

should get up and deal with the pain and stiffness, or stay down and

deal with the horrible back pain. When my joints started to get

sore, particularly my hip, shoulder, and knees, I pretty much had to

go lie on the couch...the bed was agony.

After a LOT of research, we narrowed it down to a Select Comfort bed

or a 100% latex bed. I was leery of the sleep number because, well,

it is really just a glorified air mattress...a very EXPENSIVE air

mattress, at that. However, Select Comfort had a special financing

deal for 24 months 0 interest, and Custom Comfort (where we found

the best quality latex bed for the lowest price), though a few

hundred dollars cheaper, was only 90 days interest free.

SOOOOO.....we doled out the cash for an air mattress.

I gotta tell you, though...my shoulders have been getting really bad

over the last few days - worst they've ever been...hot, swollen, and

sore even to the touch. The Select Comfort bed is like magic...I

can lay on my bad side and don't feel pain! Woohoo! If our

daughter (19 months) didn't play the " Mommy, Daddy! There's a

monster in my room! " game just to get into the new bed last night

and jump on it for an hour until we put her (screaming the whole

time) back into her crib, I'd have gotten my first full night's

sleep in I don't know how long.

Do any of you have one of these beds, and how do you like it? I'm

curious...I was amazed at how comfortable it was...it is just an air

mattress, after all....
