Either you are an angel or you had help from some very special angels

who rescued you or both, either way you survived and you are still a

survivor.

Most people are so caught up in their own " stuff/life " they really

don't take the time to understand they are hurting the innocent

bystander. You were an innocent bystander in all of that they

brought you into. I am happy for the grandparents. It was my

grandpa who gave me the courage I have. However, sorry to say he was

an alcoholic as well, but I was the only one who could calm him. We

never said " I love you, but I felt very loved by him, as much as he

could show anyways. He had issues as do most alcoholics. So I can

completely relate to a lot of what you had to say. I won't go into

details but know my heart goes out to the kid in you and what he had

to endure, yet I understand now more than ever where your compassion

comes from. I think most have a horrific story to tell and for

those of you who don't, just thank God it wasn't you. However, most

don't make it through this life without a story to tell.

I too believe you have a choice to repeat the cycle or choose your

own path in life. I chose my own path. I crooked zig zag of a path,

but it's my own. Not sure what type of circumstances have to happen

to cause some to repeat the cycle. I noticed a lot of those who

repeat the cycle look up to the person they pattern after. They

immitate everything about them, the job, the way they talk, the sense

of humor, the way they walk, everything, including the bad things and

so ... the cycle continues. We mere mortals are so much more complex

than we can attempt to explain here.

I don't know if I will continue on here at this site, but I am glad I

got to know many of you here. I just want to get that out there. I

am blessed in that way and you help me more than you know. I really

didn't come here for that, but I guess that it was supposed to happen

that way.
