Guest guest
I wasn't able to buy it at s-Medical. None of the medical supply places in my area carry it or will order it. I have found a site that sells it. http://www.everydaymedical.com/index.asp It's less if I don't get the video. Do I need the video? Will it come with directions? Thanks, Barbara
Guest guest
Lurker here... You can watch the video or most of it atleast online at the smith medical site. I just bought a new in box Acapella off of ebay for my daughter...hers broke and I needed one fast. it was from a home health supplier who has an ebay store. I was very impressed with the customer service and speed. With shipping and shipping insurance it was $56 Cassidy mom to 3 CFers ranging from 17 years to 13 months
Guest guest
Hi Barbara, Although a video is not necessary it is important to have a physiotherapist or respiratory therapist provide teaching in the use of the flutter or acapella. In Canada the physiotherapists instruct us and also provide chestphysio. A respiratory therapist did show me how to use my acapella and gave me one for free which was great, but it was actually a physiotherapist who worked with people that have bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis (CF) who taught me how to use the acapella, as the respiratory therapist was very brief. If there is a CF clinic in your area the CF nurse may help you find the flutter or acapella. Which device are you looking for? I also know a lady involved with a CF pharmacy, but need to look up her information and I'm about to go out. Can send it later tonight. Hope this Helps, Hugs:0) LizPre-Lung Transplant Journey - For updates please visit my carepage and leave a message. Guest guest
Every country [and state in the US] operates differently: but I have had the greatest of help from my respiratory therapist at my weekly program, last week was a lecture on bronchial hygiene which included all that has been mentioned. I saw the flutter valve and I demonstrated [yeah I got asked] for the other patients the use of the acapella. We all agreed that the acapella was far superior! Hope it helps. Guest guest
Yes, I forgot about connecting the acapella to your nebulizer thereby doing two things at once! My respiratory therapist showed me the other day. He had to give me another mouthpiece to fit both though so check. Great! Janet > > You can also connect the acapella to a nebulizer allowing for airway clearance and bronchodilator at the same time. Can be good for some kids (and adults) as it might help somewhat with compliance in doing their treatments. I like the acapella better than the flutter. Like Bunny I still prefer chestphysio best, but have never had the opportunity to compare chestphysio to the vest. > > Hugs:0) > Liz > > > > > Pre-Lung Transplant Journey - For updates please visit my carepage and leave a message.
