Guest guest
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone in the IMDSA membership (meaning, you have paid a membership fee for the year) has had any experience with Sara Rosenfeld- and her " Talk Tools " . For those of you who attended the last conference in Virginia she was one of the guest speakers. I guess not so specifically, does anyone have any experience with overcoming the oral-motor myths of Down syndrome? What I'm referring to, for those not familiar with Sara's work, are the myths that professionals sometimes see as being the characteristics of Down syndrome (such as a high narrow palatal vault, tongue protrusion, chronic respiratory infections, mouth breathing, habitual open mouth posture, and the impression that the tongue is too big for the mouth). If any of you have had success overcoming these myths in your or your child's oral-motor therapy please share. I'm looking for some insight and personal experience. Please send me an email with your name, current membership status and a summary of your experiences to stephanie@.... Thank you! IMDSA Newsletter Editor stephanie@...
