Vitamins, supplements, and herbal remedies.

Hi Again,

This article took me by surprise. I feel so uninformed at what's going on

in the world lately. I thought at first that it was just some overboard and

paranoid stuff... but I did some research and yes... The World Trade

Organization and the European Union Directive on Dietary Supplements is for

real. This saddened me very much that the possibility of losing the freedom

to be able to purchase certain vitamins and supplements, not to mention

herbal remedies could be taken away from me. This is a very real thing that

is happening and will become law in Europe in 2005 (that's just a few months

away). Canada and the U.S. could very well be following this directive as

both our countries are part of the WTO (World Trade Organization). With all

the supplements and herbals that I personally take, the thought of losing

these frightens me a lot. I thought it was important to pass this

information along. I plan on finding out who I can write to here in Canada

to get more info on this and to voice my intense disapproval of government

tying my hands to seek alternative options in managing my health. Sometimes

I get this feeling that my own government doesn't want me to be healthy or

to recover. It saddens me to think like this, but I sure as heck am not

going to lose my vitamin and supplements and herbal remedies. It's obvious

to me that my doctor isn't helping me and my alternatives are.
