I'm thrilled that she's at home with me now. For those who may not know

the background, Mom has been living in her apartment with 24 hour care for

the past year. She lived 45 minutes away from me and I went back and forth

about 4x a week (while going to work inbetween) and have been filling in on

weekends. She has been bed bound for almost a year and has been on a

feeding tube since January. I'm now able to give her better, personalized

care, have more time at home, and worry less. I'm very fortunate to have a

home with room for her and the woman who takes take of her (both

downstairs). Buddy, her cat, is with us too. Mom, Buddy, and (the

aide) all seem to be content. I think I have now found a weekend aide

which has been the hardest part of all. I'm hoping she'll be starting next

weekend.

Norma,

Glad to hear your gas bill will go down a bit and your Mom will get your

attention while you are home.

This has to be a relief for you.

Hugs,

Donna R

Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in

a nh.

She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.
