Roxanna.

I have almost exactly the same symptoms as you for my RA. Fingers

locking, etc. I know that you are feeling pain and it is real. Sometimes,

we are so weak and fatigued when we go to our appointments that we

don't advocate for ourselves well enough. I finally had to bring my

boyfriend with me to my appointment to have him tell my Rheumy what

was going on.

If you don't feel like your needs are being met or that this is the wrong

doc for you, please consider finding another. You should be heard

when you go to the doctor, not made to feel like you're an

inconvenience. We all have bad days, but your health should NOT

suffer because your doc is not in the best of moods.

I am also all for anti-depressants if they are needed. Why suffer with

pain whether it's physical or emotional? It's needless. Any med should

be carefully prescribed and monitored by a caring physician.

Hang in there.....things do improve with the right combo of meds.

Finding the right doc can be half the battle.

Good luck,

Roxanna,

I'm very sorry that your doctor's visit didn't go well. We go

through so much, and it seems like when its time for our appointment

we try to find answers, and help. We sure don't need a smarta##

doctor not wanting to help. I'm very sorry.

What type of meds are you on? It seems like he is more worried about

your depression. We all go through many changes with our disease,

whatever it may be, pain and suffering. When we get the meds that

help our disease, sometimes the depression isn't as bad. I've been

on so many different anti-depressants for depression, I'm happy to

say I'm on nothing at this time. Knock on wood, that could change,

but for now, I'm free of them.

Just know that if your not happy with your doctor, he's not the only

one. You need a good doctor, that makes you feel good, and he's

wanting to help you. I will keep you in my prayers, Tawny

PS:I'm not really familiar with that drug, but there has been a lot

on it lately. If you don't feel comfortable taking it, I would let

him know. Take care, and know your in my thoughts.

Our doctors must be related. Mine cuts me off midsentence every

time. He'll be very flippant if I ask about something I read, or

have a question about meds. He outright lied about my xray

results...got the real report from my gp who had it faxed over for

me. I'm going to him one more time so I can get bloodwork from his

lab once more (only have one from this lab), then I'm moving on.

He's a jerk, and I don't need any more jerks in my life. I'd be

doctor shopping if I were you. Yours sounds like a real horse's

butt, and you are entitled to better care.
