Guest guest
, I take Plaquenil and Methotrexate. I take Folic Acid for the MTX, it helps with the side effects such as hair loss. I would try taking the Folic, I don't think it could hurt anything. I've taken MTX for awhile, and I thought by adding the Plaquenil would have me losing hair, but so far no hair loss. It cold possibly be the Prednisone. When I was on it, I did start losing my hair big time. Yep, I would call my doc, and in the mean time, would start the Folic acid, and make sure your taking some vitamins. Guest guest
, Hair loss is a very rare side effect of Plaquenil. I would definitely call my doctor if I were you. Guest guest
Hi . I am also on Plaquenil and Prednisone (to name a few!), and am having the same problem as you. My hair loss is all over, with it being exceptionally bad at the top front of my head along the hairline. My Rheumy said it was from the Plaquenil and MTX....and the excess hair on the face is from the Prednisone. We just can't win, can we??? On the upside, I've found a hat that looks good on me and I've become REALLY good at waxing....lol Hang in there and know that you're not alone. > Man, I tried to pull my hair back to braid it today (my hair is long > and quite thick, so it is easier to deal with braided...cooler and > doesn't get in the way ), and a bunch came out in my hand!
