Guest guest
Hello Roxanna In my case, I had pain and symptoms for years before the RA factor showed up. I was told I had carpal tunnel syndrome, repetitive motion syndrome, and mostly stress, etc. I kept thinking (to myself of course) that this can't possibly be stress but some people/doctors don't believe that you might know your own body (OK I'll stay positive). Anyway, I have often suffered with extreme fatigue, pain in my shoulders, jaw, and hands. In fact, I think starting Methotrexate (about 5 years ago) gave me my first true relief. I'm not sure about your back situation but have you tried the pain/heat patches. I love those things. I would definitely ask your doctor about Methotrexate and Enbrel and yes they are disease modifying. Hope you feel better soon. I'm a So. Cal. girl too by the way. Take Care Babs

I'm fortunate to have found a good primary doc and have in the past felt very victumized by the system. You feel like a injured fish in a fish bowl of stronger, faster hungrey fish ready to take bites out of ya. Some docs are great and a couple I've ran into are down right sadistic and then you have the ones that insult your intelligence and basically say its all in your head (mostly male stuff I think ). Enough of that. I know one lady now in her early 70's who got RA at 28 shortly after giving birth to her daughter (a school buddy of mine) and she said she went through all kinds of stuff, they didn't have RH docs in those days and her desperate situation even took her to Mexico after shark cartalige and stuff like that. She finally found releif 7 years ago with 2 drugs called Cliniril and Plaquenil. She is a woman of strong faith and you can see the suffering in her sweet face. Her hands are in quite a mess and has had hip replacements and I don't no what all. But she told me when the flare started it never did stop. That kinda concerns me! She has been through alot and she gives me new hope. I want to get past the mourning scare thing-think it's the fight or flight primal brain stem thing- but I need to overcome that mourning terror-it's no way to wake up on the right side of the bed. That would improve my outlook alot, maybe it just takes time. Thanks for sharing and letting me share. Been in S. CA almost two years now-orig from up north Auburn's my birth town. Thanks again Babs.
