Jane,

I went to my rheumy appointment on Friday. I've been having what I

thought was hip pain. They ran x-rays on my hips and back. The

problem is in my lower back, problems with the last vertebre, along

with four spurs on the spine, and a lot of arthritis in the lower

back. They told me that all they can do for me is the Lidoderm

patches right now, and surgery will be the next step.

My doctor signed the form for the patience assistance program for the

patches, and hoping that will come through quickly. The doctor gave

me 3 samples of the patches. I did use one of them, and it does help

the pain a little. I'm saving the other ones, in case I have to get

out. It's hard for me to walk right now, so you know how that is.

What have you been doing since your daughter's been gone? I hope that

you haven't worried too much. Soon, you will have her back, and she

will be telling you about the wonderful adventure.
