He wanted me to as my Dr. about it. I did ask today and he honestly told me he had not heard about it. He wants me to see a pain specialist which I will do but it will be at least two weeks. I did research it and it sounds good. I believe it was in 2008 that it came out. Good luck and please let me know if yo go on it and how it works Lois > Google the med and you can read all about it. > What I read, it is a fairly new med. Guest guest
Jim, I forgot to say that I am on the fentanyl patch and will be interested to know if he starts you immediately on the new med or how he weans you off the patch. Thanks for your help. Lois > Jim, my son just read about it and wanted me to check with my > > > > Jim my son just called me this past week and he had read about that > medicine. Guest guest
I'm currently on Nucynta 75mg tablets (one tab every 4-6 hours). I was started on the 50mg tablets, but didn't get any relief. I'm also on MS Contin 15mg twice a day (long acting med). The PM doc that I go to said she has had patients that have had good relief from the Nucynta, but at this point I'm not impressed. Injured my back from a fall on the ice & I have multiple levels of damage in my lower back, not a surgical candidate either. Dr had me on hydrocodone 10/325 tabs 1-2 every 4-6 hours. Taking 2 hydrocodone wasn't giving me relief any longer, so she put me on the long acting med & the Nucynta. She also said that sometimes we have to slowly increase the dose to find what's going to work for me (hoping something works). Problem is I only see her once a month, so I technically end up suffering til I see her again to adjust my meds. But as we all know, everyone is different. PM doc had also put me on Opana previously, too, which she said was a great pain med, since she had other patients that had good relief using it. It was like taking a sugar pill to me. Hopefully you get good results from the Nucynta!
Guest guest
Jim, I have been taking the Nucynta for about 6 months now. I take 2 to 3 tabs a day when the fentanyl, morphine and oxycodone don't cut it. It especially helps with the pain in my legs and feet and I have noticed no side effects. There is a copay coupon that you should have gotten from the MD. Hope that helps. Hugs, Alanna Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry New Medication Questions Dear All, I have a couple questions. I had to go in to see my doctor yesterday. Pain level in my legs is soaring. He put me on a medication that I have never heard of. Have any of you been on Nucynta? If so how did it help and did you have any side effects. I went to fill it at the pharmacy last night and they do not even stock it and they can not get it until Monday. My doctor took me off the Norco but still has me on the Fentynal Patch. So I am not going to start the new medication until Monday. Thanks to anyone who can help. Take care Jim __________________________________________________
