Hi Shira,

My problem is the opposite. The more I walk around, the more my feet swell

and hurt! I have some info that may help that I'll forward to you

privately.

Do you wear, or have you tried foot orthotics? This may help even our

pressure on your feet when you are walking and help a bit.

hi everyone, i hope you all enjoy the new year!

i was just wondering if anyone else has this problem. the more i walk

around, the more my feet seem to shrink. when i put my shoes on in the

a.m., they fit, but after a couple of hours, i am swimming in them. my dr.

says that he thinks my bones are compressing onto each other. this may be

what happens, but they sure hurt like crazy. after i rest for a while, or

put my feet up, they seem to go back to normal for a short period of time.

anyone have a clue?

But I am very interested, as I am suffering the worst feet. Like you

swelling and hurting. Man 10 acres never seems so big until its yours and

you have to walk it four or five times a day!!! It probably has a lot to do

with the shoes I am wearing. Slip ons, to slip off, when I have to go

inside all the time. They have no support for my ankles or arches. <shrug>

I would be very interested in any info you could offer.

jill, thanx! i have orthodox that a pt made for me at nih. he was stumped

when i told him the problem. his suggestion was to add an additional insert

into my shoes later on in the day. i have tried this, but it doesn't seem

to help, shira

Ugh. It sounds as though you've really tried to work with this! Maybe it's

time for a whole new look at your feet and your othotics and see if there is

a need for a complete change?

My feet swell badly during the day, even when I am using the wheelchair

all day. As my arches are attempting to drop (and I have enough problems

getting shoes to fit anyway) we are trying to stop that with foot and

arch supports. My feet don't hurt as much now and my arches are fine (as

long as I use them). I find the bones don't move around as much when I

wear the supports, so it seems to reduce the subluxing bones in my feet.

Every little bit helps!
