Working late (or early?) and I want to sleep!!!!!!!!!

1. " There was a 12.3 hemoglobin with 36.6 hematocrit and s/l *low

cell impathies* with 1% (1+?) microcytosis and 1% (1+?) hypochromia.

The preoperative blood work, now on 5/25/00, shows the hemoglobin

dropped to 11.5 with a 35.9 hematocrit and a 2+ hypochromia and a 1+

microcytosis. Because of this, he will be placed on s/l *Icar C*.

He says 1%, but shouldn't it be 1+ ?? impathies? Icar C?

2. The area of the s/l *veamurse* ridge at the site of the second

molar tooth shows the site of a dental extraction.

I thought of transverse afterwards, but I can't go back and listen now.

3. pilonidal *cryst* surgery I would have said cyst, but it

sounds like he is saying the CR sound very clearly. But, he is a wierd

one LOL

4. This is a mastoid cavity debridement, simple, at mastoid surgery,

left ear. No aspergillus. Does this make any sense?????

Okay going to bed now! :o)

Dawn :o)

There's an antiphospholipid antibody in Stedman's Path & Lab Medicine, and

the same book shows hypercoagulable.

Peggy:

Antiphosphalipid Antiboties: antibodies directed

against phosphorylated polysaccharide esters of fatty

acids, includes lupus anticoagulant, VDRL, and

anticardiolipin antibodies. Associated with

immune-mediated illnesses, syphilis, and stroke;

thought to be from a hypercoagulable disorder.

Hypercoaguable: Characterized by abnormally increased

coagulation.

Hope this helps.
