Guest guest Posted June 22, 2005 Report Share Posted June 22, 2005 Hi, I've been taking methotrexate for five years. My current doctor has a blood test done every six weeks and that has been OK. About two years ago I was in the process of changing RA doctors and convinced myself that I didn't need it. Boy, that was a big mistake. I quite taking it for a few weeks and my knuckles and wrist swelled up and turned purple on top. I even had some extra joint damage in just that short period of time.
