Guest guest
Hey, I've had this poem on my website for a long time and sometimes I go back to it and read it just to remind myself to LIVE. I hope this inspires everyone. (By the way, it was not written by me. J.C. Empey is the author). TIME Sunday afternoon, 2p.m., March 2, 1997. Time is short as usual. I am certain of two things I must relay: #1 If you happen to forget, if it accidentally escapes your mind that these moments are Fleeting, that they are Leaving you now...that you must lay in them, roll, bask in the fullness. If you happen to forget the importance of being Awake--of being absolutely aware of Time's uncertain game it is playing with you--if all of this is lost on you, if the glow is meaningless, then the objective goes unnoticed. And you have no explanation other than stupidity. And your resolution will blind side you in a mockery while you are freefalling, unquenched and oh so desperate for just a little more Time. Regretful of your Indifference. Your need. Your absolute requirement for Rush, constant Movement, grave urgency to Get There. Because you see #2: the paradox appears to you in the last moment and you--the victim--can choose to view your catastrophe as you lie finally aware of the Now. Of course, there is no renegotiating at this point. You will recognize that your life began and ended unoccupied by you. That every moment was critical, saturated by appointment of certain space and emotion...That all was actually Well...that there was no need for qualified discrimination, for all those dramatic dismissals. Your reluctant revelation will obviously be exceptional. And you will be invested, only for a moment, in your own Prosecution. ---J.C.Empey
