Guest guest
as i have been telling the ladies in most of my posts, i have been on aci-jel for 16months. i have no yeast or bacteria even though it is generally used to kill bacteria and some yeast. the real effect is the acidity for me. for some reason it helps my vv. i use this jell everyday, and when i have flare ups i just increase my dose. i have been able to get myself down to only needing about 1/4 of the jell to controll the vv. I started with a full application. it is not new, it is just not the choice of doctors to use for bacteria and yeast. It is expensive and not as effective as other medications. that is what my doctors told me.
Guest guest
This is my 2 cent on Aci-Jel. Way back in the 80's I was getting constant UTI's and yeast infections and it was endless. I asked the gyno if there was something to give me back some moisture vaginally as I felt raw. The first time I used the Aci Jel it did burn, but by the 10th day I had my normal PH balance back and felt more womanly. Then more UTI's and more yeast and the second time I used the Aci Jel once again by the end I felt so much better, but then I got a bacteria infection.I don't know if it was the Aci Jel or me or the guy I was with. I do know I stopped it. In reading it though there doesn't seem to be any side effects except burning and I did burn almost all the way through the 10 days. I think my gyno said it's not that popular anymore and yes, it's expensive. That's just my experience. The good was that I felt better PH balance wise, but I was never tested for it so I can't say it lowered it any. With my IC now I am a 7 all the time. Hope this helps? Are you a 7 vaginally or is your urinhe a 7? Please correct me if I am wrong but I think the desirable vaginal PH is about 5 - 6 and for urine a 7 - 8. My vaginal PH was a 7 - 8 last week but today it is about 4.5. This is so strange. Sandi
