Dear Sue,

Burned out? You are so right. I decided to give myself a break today

and only do the absolute necessities.

I have tried health services to try and get help with my husband and

but they all say 57 is too young to qualify for anything. Never thought

about asking for help for me. Luckily our insurance did pay for his

rehabilitation as an inpatient. They would have sent in home health

services to help me with my hubby after he came home but he decided

he wanted to go to an outpatient rehab facility for 12 weeks rather than

have home health come in, which meant that I had to do everything for

him, he just came home and I took over not knowing much about how

to care for him. Maneuvering him into and out of our car from and to his

wheelchair exhausted me and sometimes I didn't think my fingers would

hold out long enough to get him moved. We finally found a used handicapped

van and that has helped me a lot.

Too bad we don't all live close to each other so we could give each

other a break. I would be so happy to do that.
